Learning Centres

The Makkale Keeche Initiative works with Adivasi communities to create village-based systems of learning led by local youth volunteers and coordinators. Its work has two key strands: Learning Centers, which provide consistent, village-level spaces for academic support and mentoring; and Children’s Camps, which bring together adolescents from multiple villages for collaborative learning, cultural sharing, and exposure to new ideas. Both strands are rooted in the community and aim to create safe, inclusive, and culturally grounded spaces where children can learn meaningfully, grow in confidence, and sustain
their engagement with education. Alongside its work with children, Makkale Keeche actively engages with parents and community members to discuss and plan for children’s learning, address challenges, and build shared responsibility for education.
